MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang appealed to critics not to use the death of former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) deputy director Samuel Ong as a reason to revive the “Hello, Garci” wiretapped tapes controversy. Press Secretary Cerge Remonde, in an interview over Radyo ng Bayan, emphasized that the “Hello, Garci” issue has long been dead and should no longer be revived, especially at this time.
Ong was said to be in possession of the original copies of the “Hello, Garci” taped conversations between former Commission on Elections commissioner Virgilio Garcilliano and several politicians, including a woman believed to be President Arroyo.
The tapes became controversial as they contained conversations about alleged cheating in the 2004 elections.
Shame on those who beg to ignore "Hello Garci Scandal". All must remember that election cheating in 2004 elections were totally similar to abject thievery. Those involve in that crime will never find peace as Satan himself will continuously torment them fearing that he might be cheated in Hell comes they sat foot there one day!
