MANILA, Philippines—The House committee on food and agriculture is leaning toward clearing former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc-joc” Bolante in the alleged P728-million fertilizer scam after the Commission on Audit (COA) report showed no irregularity on the part of the close ally of the President’s husband Jose Miguel Arroyo.

Palawan Rep. Abraham Mitra, however, stressed that the committee was still finalizing its report on the fertilizer scam hearings which started in November last year.

Mitra noted that the committee report would depend on the findings of COA which could not pin down Bolante of any illegal acts in disbursing funds for the purchase of fertilizer prior to the 2004 elections.

JESUS COMMENTARY:

It is shame for anyone who will exonerate him from Fertilizer scam. Is it the trend now that the ones accused of grand corruption go scot-free and those who expose the truth are jailed? Ah justice!

Say you Chief Justice Reynato Puno?
